The shocking revelations of the first volume accelerate as Dick Grayson (Agent 37) and the assembled Bat-Family—including Red Hood (Jason Todd), Red Robin (Tim Drake), Bluebird (Harper Row), and the mysterious Cassandra Cain—race against time to stop the global conspiracy masterminded by the villain known only as Mother.
Mother’s terrifying plan is now fully in motion: she deals in custom-created humans, taking children who have lived through unspeakable tragedies and turning them into weapons through psychological conditioning and trauma.
-
The Hunt: Dick Grayson and his allies must find Mother’s hidden location while simultaneously evading the deadly assassin Orphan (David Cain), who is revealed to be Cassandra Cain’s father.
-
Azrael’s Rise: Red Hood and Red Robin investigate the ancient Order of St. Dumas, leading to a confrontation with their newest avenger, Azrael.
-
The Secret Revealed: The volume concludes the central mystery: the exact nature of Batman’s “greatest failure” from five years ago and the dark, secret role Dick Grayson unknowingly played in the formation of Mother’s network.
The Bat-Family must unite to stop Mother from enacting her final, global plan to reprogram an entire generation, leading to an emotional and climactic final battle.
