This issue marks a back-to-basics return for Eddie Brock and the Venom symbiote, bringing the title under the “Marvel Legacy” banner.
Eddie Brock is attempting to forge a new path in New York City with the symbiote, striving to redefine Venom’s role from a simple monster to a true Lethal Protector. However, trying to do good while constantly managing the symbiote’s violent urges and its hunger is proving to be a challenge.
As Venom tries to settle into a new status quo—even taking on a surprising new job—the deepest, darkest corners of the city are stirred up by a new threat. Kraven the Hunter arrives in New York, not hunting humans, but targeting the city’s most monstrous and dangerous underground dwellers.
Venom is positioned as the only defense for the very “monsters” that Kraven is determined to prey upon. The story sets up a deadly confrontation where the Lethal Protector is tasked with protecting the hunted and making the hunter… the hunted.
