The Fog Horn

Weekly Picks and Forecasts

3/20/26 – The sun’s out and our favorite (and only) Czarnian has all his fraggin’ guns out!!

This week we have a chest full of great stuff from Invincible team ups on almost every Image title between Creepshow and Walking Dead and new number #1s from DC which include Batwoman #1, Deathstroke #1 and Lobo #1 (more on that later). DC’s Absolute titles are well into their teens with 2nd prints of Absolute Wonder Woman #12 and #15; Absolute Batman gets second prints of #11-13 and Ark-M. It’s a great time to jump into the new titles as well as catching up on the Absolutes!

The war in the Persian Gulf hit home with us comic collectors this week when an Iranian missile hit a ship carrying runs of Bitchy! and Atlas Comics Library No. 9. There’s no real indication of when the books will hit the streets now. Damn the torpedoes…..and Iranian missiles!

Not much this week for spec books that I can gather, certainly nothing like the previous weeks with skyrocketing #1s that we saw from Image. For now, I’ve got my eye on Murder Hobo #1 (4/22), but that’s just a hunch.

So back to the the Merc with a Mouth. I fondly remember reading issues of Lobo back in the late 80s and during his revival in the 90s. This book captures all of that era, from the story to the artwork. Scottie Young, although I’m not a big fan of the baby stuff, absolutely kills it (pun intended) with this #1. Lobo starts off on a bounty hunt and jumps right out of the pages to drag us along. This issue hit the market with variant covers by Bermejo, Eom, and Corona; Bermajo variant is the clear winner for me. Great stuff and I can’t wait to see where the run goes.

Until next week, don’t run the Strait of Hormuz unless you have Lobo with you, and happy hauling!

3/13/26 – The skies have been seemingly out of control for the last week with temperatures in the 80s one day and a snowstorm the next!

This month has a been a wild one for the comic book market as well! D’Orc, White Sky, Nectar and most Image #’1s have hit the street at 2-5 times cover price! This week, Tigress Island is the big catch and 2nd prints of D’Orc #1 not far behind.

The Captain’s quarters are filled with new releases, but the favorites are undoubtedly the new run of Vampiress Carmella and Shudder magazine-style horror comics from Warrant Publishing. Vampiress Carmilla finds herself transported back to the French Revolution where everyone is losing their heads! If you’re a fan of old-school horror books, this is a must have for your vault!

Until next week, happy hauling!
